BC stat holiday is slowly approaching so I thought I’ll talk about a spa that Phil and I have ventured off to in the previous long weekend! Scandinave Spa is located in Whistler, so if you are thinking of a mini short getaway, this may be the place for you! We stayed in Whistler for two days and on our last day there, we booked for a deep tissue massage at the Scandinave Spa. Just for your reference, there is no hotel connected to this spa. Its an individually owned spa that is located approximately a 10 minute drive away from Whistler Village.
When you first get there, there’s a welcome signage at the very front. It leads you into this short trail that eventually leads to the main entrance of the spa.

Coffee shops have been popping all over Vancouver for the past couple of years and there’s a new cafe that joined the category! Porto Cafe opened up not too long ago on the very end of Cambie before you hit the bridge to Downtown. We were invited by our friend @pork_ninjas to their tasting event! We were able to try out their different coffee options and also their pastries & breakfast sandwiches!
We first tried out their espresso. The espresso was categorized into three sections:
1- shot of espresso
We were told the proper way of drinking espresso was to drink it in order.

…to ALMOST all of the food stalls!
So Jess and I were invited to partake in ChineseBites’ Panda Market event, which took place at none other than the Panda Market of course! Now you might be asking what is the Panda Market, but it’s actually something you (most likely) already know! It’s the night market that is located behind Home Depot, near Knight Bridge. Yes, it is now called the Panda Market, so it differentiates from the Richmond Night Market by the River Rock Casino.
We got to try foods and drinks from 22 different vendors, so grab some snacks and enjoy the ride!
Panda Market starts at 6:46

Hope you all been liking our new layout for our blog! With the new layout, we hope to expand out of just “food” blog posts and branch out into other topics, such as electronic reviews, hotel reviews, massage reviews, etc… To start off this new idea, I’ve decided to blog about a very bad experience I’ve encountered a few days ago at Zen Foot Massage. During the weekend, my friend and I decided to go for a long hike.. and when I say “long”, I mean 4 hours! It was relatively an easy hike but the trail was just extremely long. We went to Buntzen Lake in Anmore, BC. After such a long hike, we decided to pamper ourselves and decided to go for a foot massage. With so many foot massage places within Vancouver, we decided to go on Yelp and search up the ones with positive reviews! We came across Zen and decided to give them a try!

Fathers Day just past by and this year we decided to ditch the usual dim sum idea and ventured out to a German Restaurant located on Victoria Drive. From the exterior of the building, I would never expect this place to be popular! They have a front and back entrance and also two sided parking! This place is big enough to host wedding events and parties! When we arrived, there were plenty of tables available but majority were reserved. Eventually, the place was packed full of people.

So this is a place that I’ve been going to from time to time with my colleagues for lunch whenever we’re in the area (and sometimes even when we’re not!). They are very popular and seem to be the go to spot for tradesmen of all sorts. It’s possible to get a table here for lunch without a reservation, but next to impossible for dinner. ALWAYS make a reso if you plan to have dinner here, otherwise don’t even bother going!

I’m pretty sure everybody went out during the weekend and experienced the heat wave in Vancouver. It’s cooling down a bit now so hopefully the heat will pick up when weekend arrives! Phil and I are always on the lookout for a great patio to dine at. Last week we decided to try out Tapenade Bistro in Steveston, Richmond. They had outdoor seating outside but unfortunately the only available table they had out there had no umbrella. Therefore, we decided to move back inside.
